Simon Mulla Featured in CanvasRebel

In early 2026, a feature interview was published with Simon Mulla, founder and CEO of Cali Builders & Construction Inc., focusing on the systems, discipline, and professional standards required to lead a construction company in Los Angeles.

The feature explores how Cali Builders manages high-responsibility residential projects—including new construction, major renovations, and ADUs—by prioritizing pre-construction planning and proactive communication. Simon explains how the company eliminates the “surprises” that typically derail projects by implementing strict sequencing, detailed documentation, and hands-on oversight from day one.

The interview discusses Simon’s approach to planning, communication, and residential construction. Cali Builders & Construction Inc. lists CSLB #1051566, Class B General Building; homeowners can verify the current record with CSLB. Project scope and responsibility for specialty work should be confirmed in the written proposal.

Key Takeaways:

• Systems-Driven Success: The real difference-maker in construction is the professional system behind the build.
• Professional Service Model: Construction should be managed with the same communication and documentation as a professional service.
• Proactive Planning: Every hour spent in pre-construction saves days of conflict and delays later.
• Meaningful Ownership: A focus on building long-term trust and structures that last for generations.
• Expert Compliance: Licensing and safety certifications are essential for protecting the client and the project.
• Reputation for Consistency: Delivering quality repeatedly across different project types is the mark of a true professional.
